Topic Two: Pattern and Ornament, Part 2 of 2: Research Assignment #2
Research Assignment #2
Despite the blog post and the explanation in class I think I still had a bit of trouble with what this assignment was. We were talking about ornaments and designs, at least 3 different definitions of patterns, and repeating patterns and it was all so much that it just got jumbled in my mind and I was not 100% sure which images would count for this assignment. I tried asking around but the other students actually seemed to confuse me more because they ended up trying to explain to each other their own different understandings so I took a variety just to be safe and separated them into sections. They begin with more general flat patterns which is what people usually imagine and gradually move on to more carving and filigree type looking ornament.

Brick pattern floor
The same brick floor in different sections.
Trash can

Head Board

Toilet Paper.
Toilet paper actually has a lot of really pretty patterns and there usually is some sort of texture, I'm not sure you can see it in this image though.
Shoes
I enjoy this repeating pattern.
I will zoom in so you can see the designs better but then look fake zoomed in too close so I had to show this one to prove I really did see it in my normal life. I was in my car with Stephanie Lock and stuck in traffic when I took this image.
